Course Introduction
This training course contents fully explain the corrosion processes and mechanisms, forms of corrosion and corrosion control within the framework and the common understanding of asset Corrosion Management (CM).
Case studies and practical examples will be discussed.
Organisational Impact
The organization as a whole will gain new knowledge and set of skills which will help them to significantly enhance their corrosion mitigation and control and further optimize their pertinent integrity costs.
The organization gains will include:
- Improved (site) personnel safety and environmental protection
- Enhanced teamwork, communication and reporting
- Increased corrosion failure pre-emption capability across the organization
- Extended equipment and asset life due to reduced corrosion rates
- Increased production/operation times and reduced number of unplanned shutdowns
Professional Impact
Attending this training course will help them to:
- Learn what a corrosion management concept is and how it differs from corrosion engineering
- How the corrosion management process can be implemented across an asset
- How an organization's capability in pre-empting corrosion failures increases
- How various non-corrosion engineering-based integrity measures could also significantly enhance corrosion control and mitigation often at no or very little costs
- Participants will learn to mitigate and control corrosion more efficiently through improved understanding of premier root causes behind the majority of corrosion issues and failures.
Target Audience
Target audience is non-corrosion engineering and non-corrosion management staff from relevant engineering disciplines, e.g. process disciplines. The course will provide the audience with a working knowledge of different types of corrosion and how, why and where it occurs with emphasis on corrosion mechanisms and relevant chemistry.
Anyone who needs the ability to recognize corrosion and understand its devastating potential, and how to monitor and/or control corrosion, especially as it relates to his or her area of responsibility.
This includes:
- Technicians
- Salespersons
- Inspectors
- Managers
- Engineers
