Course Introduction
In an industrial situation where it is required to measure some aspect of a process, it is often the application of the knowledge and the ingenuity of the Engineer or Technician which is relied upon to solve the measurement and control problem. Therefore a fundamental understanding of the principle of operation of a range of sensors/transducers and instrumentation techniques applicable in an industrial situation combined with a working knowledge of Process control techniques and tuning methods equips the Engineer or Technician with the necessary skills and makes them invaluable in their workplace.
Objectives
By the end of the Course Participants will be able to :
- Understand of the principles and practice of a range of sensors and transducers
- Investigate the operation of an instrumentation through designing, building and testing typical sensor combined with appropriate signal conditioning circuits
- Become familiar and confident with a range of measurement techniques
- Be equipped with new skills and knowledge which must impact positively within the company structure
- Be able to evaluate the suitability and application of the used instrumentation.
- Be better equipped to advise on new system installations in terms of sensor choice and specification, system monitoring techniques and circuit design
- Therefore potentially contribute towards and result in plant and process cost reductions leading to financial savings for the company.
Training Methodology
The training Methodology will include a detailed Explanation of the subject. Course material through PowerPoint equipped with necessary animation, learning video, and general discussion to provide participants with full understanding concerning the subject course this is not limited but will extended to the following:
- General discussion
- Practical session
- Learning Examples
- Working in teams
- Playing Roles
- Workshop & Case Study
Target Audience
This course is designed to attract and be of benefit to a range of people who work in the instrumentation and process plant area. Typically but not exclusively this course will be of benefit to:
- Professionals involved in designing, selecting, sizing, specifying, installing, testing, operating and maintaining process instrumentation and control systems
- Design Engineers
- Instrumentation Engineers and Technicians
- Instrument and Process Control Engineers and Technicians
- Process Engineers, operators and technicians
- System Integrators
Other professions (Managers, Engineers, Technicians) involved in the Process Industry who require a fuller understanding of that industry
