Course Introduction
Agile Development is an umbrella term for several iterative and incremental product development methodologies. The most popular agile methodologies include Extreme Programming (XP), SCRUM, Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), Lean Development, and Feature-Driven Development (FDD). Agile development methodology provides opportunities to assess the direction of a project throughout the development lifecycle. This is achieved through regular cadences of work, known as sprints or iterations, at the end of which teams must present a potentially shippable product increment. Agile as an approach to managing projects has increased dramatically over the last several years. Gartner predicts that agile development methods will be used on 85% of all development projects. Research demonstrates the value that Agile can have a significant effect in decreasing product defects, improving team productivity, and increasing the delivery of business value.
In this Adaptive (Agile) Project Management training course, the delegates will be able to demonstrate the difference between the traditional project management approach and the agile management approach. They will be able to use the agile management approaches, tools & techniques in managing their projects. The delegates will also practice simulation questions like the agile certificate exam.
Objectives
The participants will be able to:
- Define the basic concepts and definitions related to the Agile approach
- Explain the difference between traditional and adaptive approaches
- Apply and use the SCRUM activities
- Analyse and differentiate between different estimation tools and techniques
- Design their own way of preparing for the PMI-ACP certification exam
Training Methodology
Interactive discussions support this training course, role-play, and case studies and highlight the techniques available to the participants, which include different techniques such as pre and post exams to assess the delegate's knowledge before and after the course and to be familiar with the exam questions, using a real-world example to illustrate the concept and principles, case studies and exercises to implement what has been learned, interactive participation and discussion to enable information and knowledge sharing between the participants, and group activities to implement different tool and techniques.
Professional Impact
The participants will:
- Select the best approach to perform the project activities successfully
- Develop the different activities of the SCRUM, such as Sprint Planning and estimation
- Generate different SCRUM Artifacts
- Manage and monitor the project stakeholders and communication
- Perform Agile testing Activities
